CLEAN SWEEP
Morarji Desai
                          1973
Despite his dour exterior, Morarji Desai abounded in colourful eccentricities. He not only propounded urine drinking, but also suggested that a reporter on the American TV show 60 Minutes try the stuff before drinking it. Here he is getting ready for the swimming pool, and here he is in an interview to India Today in 1977 just after becoming prime minister: "I believe a man should look decent and clean. No work can be done well without that."
