The 30-share index, which had lost 136.55 points in the previous session, recovered by 87.74 points, or 0.40 per cent to 20,291.08 level in the opening trade on Wednesday.

Similarly, the broad-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty also rose by 29.65 points, 0.48 per cent to trade above 6,100 points level at 6,120.55.
