a) A set of senior BJP leaders know that they will wield greater power in an Advani-led government rather than a Modi-led one.

b) But they also know that a Modi-led BJP can get many more seats in the next elections than an Advani-led BJP.

c) They would like to use Modi's popularity to win elections but would prefer Advani as PM.

d) Modi's best move would be to work closely with Advani to ensure that if not PM, he is still first among equals after the elections.
